Aquatics (Pool) Therapy
Aquatic therapy activities may be done in outdoor or indoor pool facilities. Buoyancy of the water supports a person’s weight and decreases stress on bones, joints and muscles, allowing free low-impact movement. This activity can improve metabolism, circulation, endurance, flexibility, range of motion, balance and coordination. Moving against under water resistance helps improve muscle tone and strength. It is important to seek guidance from a pediatrician or therapist before beginning aquatics therapy.
