Adults
- At the age of 18, a disabled young adult must apply for their own social services, for example Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, Medicaid Waiver and other social needs programs. Application will now be based on their personal income instead of the income and resources of their parent/caregiver. For more information about application to federal/state social service programs, contact
The Social Security Administration: [1] or The US Dept of Health and Human Services: [2]
- Young adults may benefit from Community-Based Transition Programs for Students.
